adidas' Originals official re-issue of the Germany away shirt for World Cup 2014 in Brazil. Despite Brazil having won 5 World Cups and Germany 3 before this tournament, this was only the second meeting of the two in World Cup history. Both went into the game with unbeaten records, qualifying from their groups with 7 points. In the quarterfinal vs Colombia Brazil lost their talismanic attacker Neymar to injury, and Captain Thiago Silva to suspension. However, they were still expected to progress with home advantage. What followed was possibly the most shocking result in World Cup history. Germany pounced early with Thomas Müller escaping his marker, David Luiz, to score from a corner. They quickly scored a second with Müller and Kroos linking up to set up Miroslav Klose. In trying to respond Brazil lost their heads and Die Mannschaft quickly rattled in 5 goals by halftime. Visibly shocked, the stadium fell silent as grown adults sobbed in the stands. Second half substitute André Schürrle scored two more before an 89th minute consolation goal for Oscar. The Brazil team left the pitch in tears to a chorus of boos from the home crowd. The resulting fights forced the Military Police to send Special Forces to the stadium to keep the peace.
