adidas' new Peru Climacool away shirt for World Cup 2026 qualifying. Sadly La Blanquirroja won't be wearing this shirt as they suffered their worst qualifying campain since 1994. The shirt features adidas' Climacool technology providing comfort in the heat, whilst stiched details ensure durability for multiple washes. This shirt has an ultra-modern feel with it's black base and flourecent colours. But the design is actually based on the colours of chicha culture, a kitsch aesthetic that was born in the 1980s. Following the mass migration of people from the Andeas to costal cities their influences mixed with modern flourescent colours in screen printed promotial posters for cumbia concerts. At the time they were seen as gaudy and throwaway, but in later years from the 2010 onwards they became embraced for their cultural heritage.
